I grew up in the Washington D.C. area listening to John Duffey play at
the Birchmere and 88.5 WAMU. In the 10th grade my identical twin
brother decided he wanted to play the banjo, so naturally I started
playing the guitar. By the time I graduated college, I was a steady
rhythm guitar player and knew the breaks to about 5 standards. For some
reason in May of 1999, I bought a mandolin. I have been addicted ever
since. I now live in Mobile, AL, and have won the South Alabama Mandolin Competition the
past two years in a row. The Weber Custom Bitterroot is an awesome
mandolin, and the folks at Weber were great to work with. |
