My name is Niall Flemming and I am an Irish
"Trad" Fiddler. We came to live in Ireland in 1996 from Australia and I
got into trad music.I have done well and
I have played trad on a few tours, in France
and Germany and have backed a couple of CDs. I have won "All Ireland"
medals for playing with my local Comhaltas Branch, but most of all I
just enjoy playing session music. I currently play with my sister and a
few friends at Bobby's Pub in Durrow County Laois every Sunday. Earlier
this year, my old learners mandolin died. I had really lost interest in
really playing it. Then, I found a Weber Hyalite in a music Shop in
Cork. I played it for hours in the shop and I was converted. It was so
easy to play and the tone was so sweet and yet strong enough to be heard
in a session. My Weber goes everywhere with me now. It gives the group a
great sound change and is great accompaniment to a singer. The mandolin
is a beautiful instrument and there should be more Webers in the world
proving the point!
